Plugins are like apps for our WordPress websites. They let us add features to our TPT blogs to optimize SEO and easily connect to other tools like Google Analytics or ConvertKit.
On the other hand, plugins can also add bloat and extra code to your site, slowing it down.
- For example, WooCommerce is a very resource heavy plugin.
- If you turn it on and your site doesn’t have enough resources, your teachers will get frustrated because your entire website is overloaded and will slow down or crawl.
Can I use any plugin I want on my TPT blog powered by SEOT hosting?
It depends on how your TPT blog is set up.
Are you on your own droplet (server) with SEOT Hosting? If so, how powerful is your droplet (server)?
Are you using the starter WordPress website on the SEOTpreneur PRO network?
If your TPT blog is on a Venti SEOT Hosting plan or higher…
- You’re able to install any number of plugins on your TPT blog, including resource heavy plugins like WooCommerce or Membership plugins.
- Note: If you have a busy site, you may eventually need to upgrade to a more powerful droplet (server) with more resources.
If your TPT blog is on a Grande SEOT Hosting plan…
- You’re able to install any number of plugins on your TPT blog.
- We do not recommend installing heavy plugins like WooComemerce or Membership plugins as your site does not have sufficient resources to run those plugins well. (Your site will slow down.)
- If you choose to run multisite WordPress and have multiple TPT blogs on your droplet (server), all of your TPT blogs will have access to installed plugins. (Note: If you are using premium plugins, these are often licensed per site, and not per installation; You may need to purchase additional licenses to use premium plugins.)
- Note: If you have a busy site, you may eventually need to upgrade to a more powerful droplet (server) with more resources.
If your TPT blog is on a Tall SEOT Hosting plan…
- You’re able to install any plugins on your TPT blog, but your site is only able to handle 1-2 additional plugins on top of the 8 plugins pre-installed at the beginning (All In One SEO Elite, Monster Insights PRO, WP Activity Log, WPMU DEV Smush, Forminator PRO, Defender PRO, Redirection, Kadence)
- If you install too many plugins beyond system limits, we may ask you to uninstall those additional plugins or ask you to upgrade to a droplet (server) with more resources.
If your TPT blog is hosted on the SEOTpreneur PRO network (i.e. the WordPress site that comes with your SEOTpreneur PRO membership)…
- You are not able to install or activate any plugins.
- All TPT blogs on the SEOTpreneur droplet (server) are on the same droplet (server) so any plugins have to be installed at the network level.
- Although you are the administrator of your TPT blog, you don’t have super-admin access to install or activate plugins because it would impact other sites.
If there is a plugin that you think is missing from the SEOTpreneur PRO network, please let our support team know.
For example, a TPT Seller ask for access to Convertkit. We use Convertkit. It was already installed on the SEOTpreneur PRO droplet (server) for the main site, so it was easy to network activate the plugin so other TPT blogs could access it.
If you’re on SEOT Hosting and you have a question, please let our support team know.
